Why Wait?

In Exodus 6:9, the bible talks about how Moses went to the Israelites. He went to give them a message from the Lord. God told Moses to tell them that He would bring them out of Egypt. He told them that He would free them from their bondage. The Lord promised that He would redeem them and make them His. The Israelites didn't want to hear it anymore. All they had seen since Moses came back was an increased workload and worse treatment from Pharaoh and his slave drivers. They were discouraged. They had,had enough. They didn't listen to Moses. They wanted to be free but they could see no change at that moment. All they could see was what the situation was right then.

When God gives us a message that doesn't mean that our situation is going to abruptly change. Not that God isn't moving in our life or situation, just that it might not be clearly seen at that moment. This is the time God uses to strengthen us. We should wait on God to move us. We shouldn't try to take things into our own hands.

I waited patiently for the Lord;
He turned to me and heard my cry.
He also brought me up out of a horrible pit,
Out of the mud and mire,
He set my feet on a rock,
And gave me a firm place to stand.
He put a new song in my mouth--
A hymn praise to our God;
Many will see it and fear,
And will trust in the Lord.

Psalm 40:1-3

The Lord is very aware of the situation we are going through. The waiting is hard and can make you doubt the promises of God if you let it. This is a time to press on and praise God even more. In Hebrews, Chapter 10 verses 36-38 say, { You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. For in just a little while, "He who is coming will come and not delay. But my righteous one will live by faith and if he shrinks back, I will not be pleased with him." }

Don't give up! God hears you. He is working in your life. The motions may seem so small that you can barely feel them, but your blessings are coming. Push forward and keep the fire of the Lord in your heart. Keep faith with God. Don't fall back and forget the truths. God has promised us everlasting life. He didn't promise us a perfect life on this earth. The closer you walk with God , the harder life can become. Satan wants you to doubt. He wants you be in the dark. That is where his power can manifest the best. Satan doesn't want to necessarily win you to his side. He just wants you ineffective in God's kingdom. That is how he gains a stronghold. Take back what you have given to the world. Reclaim your peace in God's grace.
