It Has Been A While!!

Image
It has been almost a year since I have written on here. I apologize for the lengthy silence. However, in that silence I have learned and grown so much. God has been working in me and through me on so many levels. I have had the opportunity to have a real heart check and to come against seemingly impossible situations. I have come to the conclusion that My God is a God of more than enough and that he is steadfastly holding me to Him, even when I am on the verge of letting myself go.                 It is amazing to see how high you can lift yourself up. I lifted myself to pretty high heights and the devil had no problem knocking me down a peg or two.  I thought I was so strong in my faith. I found myself thinking more highly of myself than I should have. God doesn’t like ugly and he had a few lessons for me to learn. He also had a very big bles...

Where is your heart today?

"What do you have your sight's on?"  I feel God has been convicting me of this.  He speaks to me in themes, and everything I read points to this.  What on this earth have I put before my time with God?  Back in Bible times, the Israelites continued to try to worship other gods and idols. [golden calf] What are the idols of our world now?

I Was Robbed!!

If you are robbed something is taken from you.   What is it called when you give something away, willingly or not?   I am guessing that the logical response to this would be dependent on what is being given.   To pin point what the “Giver” is giving, I will start with Joy.           How do you give joy away?   What happens if you give your joy away?    First of all, Joy is given to you from the Lord.   It is a feeling of peace and gladness from being one with Christ.   Why would you want to give that awesome gift away?   So many people let circumstances and people get them down.   They become discouraged, depressed, angry and upset.   But, I am here to tell you that you don’t have to feel that way.   The Lord gave us joy.   John 15:11 says, “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy ...

Change Me...Part Four

EMBODY THE FRUITS OF THE SPIRIT:           Lesson Seven, “ But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. 25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other. Galatians 5:22-26. NIV.           We should make the effort to be a representative of all the characteristics of the Fruits of the Spirit.   The Apostle Paul gave this list to show us what Christ-like attributes we need to enter the Kingdom of God. ·         Love - "Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display its...

Have Joy, Even when the going is tough.

James 1:2-4  Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.  Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. NLT     Consider it joy to go through problems and hardships?  I can't say that I have ever really felt joyful about going through a problem.  Have you?  Our first instincts  are to get angry and upset.  We go and throw woe is me pity parties.  Then after a little while we ask for God's help.  Of course, with the "Why, God, Why?" mentality.  Why do I have to suffer through this? I paid my tithes, I gave my offerings, I pray everyday, I go to church on Wednesdays and Sundays, I help out in nursery.  I collect money for missions and charities.  God Why me?  Why not that other person.  The one who doesn't even love you or know you.  That person who c...
